Ms. Mia S.

[MEE-uh]

Birthday: April 2nd

Hometown: Kaiserslautern, Germany

Favorite Crayola color: Denim

Background: I am a student at Florida State University studying International Affairs with a concentration in Religion. I have been babysitting since around 2017. I have worked with kids from all ages - as young as 5 months to 12 years old. Helping them with their homework, picking them up from school, or playing with them outside. I also was a mentor for middle school students during my first two years of college, as well as volunteering at camps in the summer.

On her own, she’s cared for children as young as: 5 months old

Future plans: My future plans include either working for a church, with a non-profit organization to help people all around the world, or live abroad and provide resources for those who can't get them themselves! I hope to continue to travel a lot like I did when I was kid and to spread love and kindness to those around me!

When she's not babysitting: When I'm not babysitting, I am most likely at a sporting event and volunteering at my church. I love all sports, but football and baseball are my favorite! If not that, I'm either sitting outside with my dogs or reading a good book!

Defining quote: "May the flowers remind us why the rain was so necessary." - Xan Oku

Mia has taken care of our 1 year old since he was 6 months old. She’s babysat alone at our house for longer periods of time. Sometimes 8 hours in a day. Mia is a calm and competent presence. She’s attentive to our child and plays with him when he’s awake and is excited to see him. I can tell he really loves her because of how he acts when we see her outside of the house (at Church, for instance). Mia has an excellent memory about what he needs and his schedule as well.

Mia serves as a babysitter for community group events at our church. I’ve observed her working with toddlers through fifth grade. Mia has always been fabulous with our students when we have hired her as a babysitter. She is engaging, caring, and very fun! She always plays with the children and comes up with activities for them to do as a group when she could easily just put the TV on. I highly recommend Mia!
