Ms. Jaia

[JAY-uh]

Birthday: January 24th

Hometown: Tallahassee, FL

Favorite Crayola color: Wisteria

Background: I have been babysitting since around June 2019. Throughout the years I have had the joy of at-home babysitting, camp counseling, and swim lessons/camp. I currently attend Florida State University Schools as a student and I am involved in mainly Student Council. I consider myself to be a creative person I believe the sky’s the limit in what fun and enrichment a child can learn and explore through a safe environment. I also have experience with special needs and allergies through my time as a camp counselor.

On her own, she’s cared for children as young as: 5 months old

Future plans: I plan to graduate high school and go to college majoring in Neuroscience & Interior Design hopefully one day continuing my education into Medical School.

When I'm not babysitting: I enjoy traveling as I've been to over 25 countries and would like to continue to increase that number. I also enjoy reading books, going to the beach, and discussing movies with friends.

Jaia is doing great! She is so kind, mature, and responsible. (I can say this about all the sitters you have sent us!)

Jaia is very patient and trustworthy. I have known her since 2010. She’s very dependable and pays attention to detail. She has worked with me for summer camps and after school programs. She was a joy to have around the kids in the program. She did an amazing job considering her age and the tasks she was given.

Jaia is to a mentor and volunteer for our toddler and preschool group in the Challenges to Champions program. She is one of four volunteer mentors helping with 25 children. Jaia has been observed to be very patient with the children. Toddlers rarely follow directives the first time, but that has never seemed to be an issue for Jaia; she is patient and persistent and seems to get the kids going in the right direction when none of the other volunteers can. Jaia is dependable and shows up when she say she will be there (even on a volunteer basis, I should add). I recall several parents giving Jaia special gifts at the end of the summer program. One of them even gave a short speech of how she knew her preschooler had struggled in Head Start, and she looked forward to a better year because of the skills Jaia had taught her child over the summer. Overall, I believe that Jaia would be an asset to any family, and you can count on her to impress everyone.
