Background: I am a student at Florida State University and I am majoring in biology on the pre-medical track. I have been babysitting since I was 12, starting with my two youngest brothers, learning to change their cloth diapers and how to handle a young child. I then started working for a preschool/daycare at 16, where I spent three years caring for children ages 3 months to 6 years old. I worked as an assistant teacher and was able to handle 2 children independently when they were under 2 years old, and 8 children independently when they were under 5 years old. I also have extensive experience with children with mental disabilities that I got during my time at the preschool/daycare. I also spent the last 2 summers as a camp counselor, the first year being in charge of 2- and 3-year-olds and the second year being in charge of 3- and 4-year-olds. I got my passion for babysitting from watching my mom as a teacher while I grew up!
On her own, she’s cared for children as young as: 3 months old
Future plans: I want to be a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon. I am hoping to go to med school by 2027!
When she’s not babysitting: I am reading, going on runs, and hanging out with my dog!
Defining quote: “You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction you choose.” – Dr. Seuss
“Bayla, was an excellent babysitter. She was communicative and on time and when she was with my two daughters she wasn’t on her phone, engaged with them with games and make believe. She was able to get them through their bedtime routine and when I came home it was always tidy. Any family would be lucky to have Bayla has a babysitter!”
“Bayla was very responsible and engaged with the girls, who were 5 years old and 10 years old. She played games and took the time to do activities. She was also able to handle keeping up with their routine and making sure they were safe and comfortable.”
