Background: I am currently studying Child and Family Sciences and Psychology at Florida State University. In high school, I was captain of the cheerleading team and was chosen to teach at a competitive gym where children would actually perform in front of audiences. Apart from that, I worked at a bounce house place where I helped host birthday parties and supervised large groups of children. I made sure that all the kids were safe and still having fun!
My experience in childcare began when I taught cheerleading to children and adults with special needs. After that, I attended a special needs camp where I was paired with a child to mentor. As a babysitter, I have cared for children between the ages of 5 months old and 11 years old. I have always loved kids and keeping them occupied with activities, crafts, and even games.
I have received training on how to support children and teens with ASD from the FSU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD).
On her own, she’s cared for children as young as: 5 months old
Future plans: I want to use my degree to become a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. I love working with kids and hope I can find a job where I can help children complete normal, day-to-day activities.
